Ronnie Souza is a seasoned Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Professional with more than 35 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology research industries. Ronnie leverages years of experience and extensive knowledge to provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and administration of comprehensive environmental health and safety programs and policies. His areas of expertise include but are not limited to regulatory compliance audits, licensing, permitting, development, implementation, and management of EH&S plans/manuals, technical research and reports, OSHA, EPA, and DOT training, and onsite OSHA compliant EH&S program management.
Ronnie started his career in Environmental Health & Safety at E.I. DuPont, the Medical Research & Pharmaceutical Division, where he was responsible for EH&S compliance in research laboratories, animal facilities, and pharmaceutical production areas. The division’s 3,000 employees worked with radioactive, chemical, and biological hazards on a daily basis. Ronnie left E.I. DuPont after 21 years to take a position at The Children’s Hospital, Boston.
As a staff member of The Children’s Hospital Safety Department, Ronnie was responsible for the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive EH&S programs and policies which included research, clinical, and public sectors hospital-wide. Ronnie also chaired the MASCO Emergency Preparedness Committee which was comprised of EH&S safety professionals representing 21 businesses with combined employment exceeding 25,000 personnel in Boston’s Longwood Medical Area. The committee participated in emergency exercises with Boston, State, and Federal Emergency Management Agencies. Ronnie left Children’s Hospital to take a position as an EH&S Consultant with Triumvirate Environmental.
As Consulting Services Manager for Triumvirate’s Life Science/Biotechnology division, Ronnie provided consulting services for hundreds of the Life Science, Biotechnology, Higher Education, Healthcare, and Industrial institutions in New England and the mid-Atlantic. Utilizing his expertise, Ronnie provides cost-effective solutions and effective implementation of comprehensive EH&S programs resulting in full compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
